Heated Ski Uniforms
In 2008, a Northern European start-up set out to revolutionize alpine sportswear with a heated ski uniform designed for extreme cold environments. Operating at high altitudes and temperatures as low as -20°C, the product’s performance relied heavily on its battery system. However, early field tests revealed critical issues: inaccurate State of Charge (SOC) readings, unexpected heating shutdowns, and unreliable runtime indications — all of which threatened user safety, comfort, and overall product success.
